Gupta, Neeraj, M.D.

Neeraj Gupta, MD began work with Chaparral Medical Group, in September 2005 as an Orthopedic Surgeon. Dr. Gupta has obtained diverse training in all aspects of orthopedic surgery at the University of Southern California. Recently, Dr. Gupta strengthened his orthopedic background by completing a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Kaiser San Diego specializing in arthroscopy and knee and shoulder reconstruction. 

Among his favorite procedures are those in the field of sports medicine: anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions, arthroscopic shoulder stabilizing procedures, arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs, patello-femoral stabilizing procedures, cartilage transplantation, and general knee and shoulder arthroscopy. In addition, he has expertise in total knee replacements, total shoulder replacements, peri-articular fractures of the knee, elbow, and shoulder, and long bone fractures. Dr. Gupta is planning to start a weekly acute knee injury clinic for all patients who have recently injured their knees in order to prevent long waiting times and the potential disability that may result. 

During his Sports Medicine Fellowship, Dr. Gupta took care of high school and college athletes on and off the field as well as being involved in pre-season physicals to clear athletes for competition. 

Dr. Gupta is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has been the author in several research projects including one about patellar stabilizing techniques that he recently presented at the annual American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine meeting. 

Dr. Gupta obtained his Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Molecular Biology at Northwestern University in Chicago. He proceeded on at Northwestern University Medical School to obtain his medical degree. He completed his internship and residency in Los Angeles at the University of Southern California.
